Notes to the balance sheet and profit and loss account

20. General The company annual accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions set out in Title 9, Book 2 of the Dutch Civil Code and the accounting standards issued by the Dutch Accounting Standards Board. The accounting policies applied in the company annual accounts are identical to those applied in the consolidated annual accounts. Participating interests in group companies are stated at net asset value in accordance with section 2.6 of the notes to the consolidated annual accounts. For the principles for the valuation of assets and liabilities and for the determination of the result reference is made to pages 56 to 68 of the notes to the consolidated balance sheet and profit and loss account.
